The Role

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the exec team, board, and investors, the head of business development will lead our work to acquire businesses in the integrative healing space. Their role will be to identify target companies, build and nurture relationships and support them through from first contact to closing.

The ideal candidate for this role will have passion for and conviction in our vision: to bring integrated healing to the world—passionate, empathetic and driven, a great communicator who enjoys building relationships and closing deals in a start-up / high growth business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop acquisition strategy, approach and criteria

  • Identify potential acquisition targets

  • Use network (personal and that of the business) to open doors 

  • Establish The Healing Company brand, reputation and presence in the wellness community, working closely with CMO / PR agencies

  • Be an ambassador for The Healing Company culture, values and purpose

  • Own and drive acquisition funnel from identification, initial contact, negotiation, and due diligence to deal close

  • Build and nurture pipeline of prospective acquisitions, aim for a high target of close to conversation rate

  • The aim is to close 20+ deals in the next three years

  • Continuously optimize and improve conversion rate on deals 

  • Work with GC, CFO and external partners to get deals over the line, pulling in advisors, CEO, external support, other execs where necessary

  • Hand off to COO / unit leads post acquisition for integration and ongoing operation

 

Experience

  • High integrity and strongly values led

  • Track record in and passion for B2B sales / company acquisition

  • Proven ability to close deals

  • An optimistic, tenacious, high-energy relationship builder

  • Great communication skills, written and verbal

  • High degree of empathy and ability to sense the needs of target companies and matching those with the benefits of support by The Healing Company

  • Intellectually curious with an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up your sleeves

  • Financially literate, analytical and creative problem solver

  • Ability to identify valuable targets that share our vision and can benefit The Healing Company community of brands

  • Self-motivated, driven, proactive and comfortable working with uncertainty

  • Team player, ability to work with rest of team in DD phase

  • Passion for and understanding of healing with natural remedies, conscious living and health
